Dancenorthwest teaches modern Jive 3 dance nights a week. It brings together a friendly crowd of people all wanting to learn this fun, easy and great looking dance. 

What’s Modern Jive all about? 

Modern Jive is a fusion of popular dance styles it combines rock and roll, with latin moves and a dash of dirty dancing and is probably the most fun dance night you'll ever have. It's easy to learn and stylish. You don't even need to bring a partner, just turn up and join in the class.

Guys – women love a man who can really dance and with us you will learn.
Once you start dancing with us you will find venues and events happening all over the country and you won’t ever be stuck wondering what to do on a dance floor! 

Every night starts at 7.30pm with a Beginners Class where you have fun learning the basics.

'I was nervous the first time I walked through the door but within minutes I was in the class and all nerves were forgotten, I changed partners and danced with lots of people'.

Then it's freestyle time, practicing with lots of different dancers.

'Freestyle, how can I dance with people who know what they are doing when I don’t?

Helpers give you extra advice, other people ask you to dance and you can end up dancing all night long. Add in people of all ages, chart music, swing and even blues and you soon get hooked.

It's not a set course but a fun and relaxed way of learning to dance. Only £6 for the full evening with a combination of Instructor led classes and freestyle to a DJ from 7.30 till 10.30pm.
